October 2018 Member of the Month 1/2 - Christine Blenkinsop


When, how and why did you get started with us? When I hit 45 I thought, "if I was to have a good old age I would need to exercise. I tried a lot of things and 7 years ago, found xfit and it has been my love ever since". I came to CFC after time at Brays Xfit, which shut down. What would be your dream workout? Any Strongman stuff, Double Unders, and bike. What workout would you want to avoid?I like everything really maybe scaling a lot of things in a WOD makes me feel a bit lame Favourite Crossfit Athlete? Lyn Knapman is my favourite CrossFit athlete. She has been #1, in the world, in my age group for years. She is just so awesomely awesome. What's the best thing you own that cost under $100?My Stainless steel dental tools are my best purchase. They save me big bucks. Biggest fashion mistake you’ve ever made? Was the purchase of RM Williams boots with, what turned out to be, extremely slippery soles. I was crossing St Georges Terrace, with cars 4 lanes across, waiting at the lights. My hat blew off my head. When I ran after my hat across the lanes of cars waiting at the lights, I fell flat on my face, got up ran after my hat and fell flat on my face again as the lights turned green. All down to my slippery boots. Favourite quote?Walk a mile in my shoes (even if they are slippery). What's your fav 90s jam? Probably Collective Soul. Last thing you watched on TV? The Brownlow Medal Count. I feel a bit sad and empty when footy ends but so exciting when next season starts again. Funniest thing that happened to you recently? From Nass: when his brother and Nass found people on Gumtree giving away their pets and Nass and his brother cooked them up for a feed. Most used emoji? Don't do emojis. If you could have one other CrossFit Claremont members body part, what would it be? I admire so many parts of so many bodies at CFC but the 3 things I wish I could have are youth, hairlessness and no boobs if you fit this bill at CFC I admire you
