Today, please only park on the Northern grassed area near the Gym (right hand side if you come through Gate 8). There is some emergence response testing going on. I know it's kind of a weird request but they stressed "Please don't take any photos". Haha thanks for your cooperation.
When, how and why did you get started with us? In September 2016 - not sure what made us come down but my first class was the Saturday morning try-before-you-sign-up class with a ton of box jumps and burpees; it was about 35 degrees at the old gym and I knew people in the class before who were making noises I wouldn’t have expected to hear from them, had just sweated their body weight, and could barely draw breath when they finished, but said ‘it was great’. I did the class and I too went through the whole gamut of emotions (love it, hate it, what am I doing, this is ridiculous etc etc). I could barely walk or carry out fundamental self care tasks after it (or for the following week)…….but signed up straight after the class! Loved the idea of the challenge and that there was plenty of room to improve.
What would be your dream workout? Anything sweaty and grindy - Rowing, Bike, Ski Erg, Skipping and who would have guessed……..burpees and box jumps! The 12 days of Christmas is right up there as one of my favourites….
What workout would you want to avoid? OLY! I just can’t make those noises…..
Favourite Crossfit Athlete? I don’t really watch the crossfit stuff so would have to say Jase, Nass, Wacey, Chris and of course Kat (who so patiently puts up with the naughty sweat crew who sometimes hijack the class - yes thats you Siobhane, Cat and Kate and of course DAVE when you turn up.….)
Whats the best thing you own that cost under $100? Everything I buy……...I always tell Simon ‘it was under $100’
Biggest fashion mistake you’ve ever made? Was more of a hair mistake….but at age 40 I had an asymmetrical cut, and pink streak put in my hair at the encouragement of my ‘edgy’ hairdresser. I picked up my son from primary school who told me 'I looked ridiculous and what was I thinking’ just after one of the dad's who was also picking up his kid had told me it ‘looked sexy’ - awkward 😳 and deflated 🙁 all in a matter of minutes, and clearly a bad hair decision!

Spice Girls - Wannabe (could even do all the ‘moves’…….once); Ricky Martin - Livin’ La Vida Loca (thought he was absolutely hot only to find out he would be more interested in Simon…heartbroken!); MC Hammer - U Can’t Touch This (the pants…); Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go On (a goodie if you are at the stage of night when you think you are on the Titanic…but soon realise its the one or two bevies too many that is creating the feeling of sea-sickness) and who could go past Vanilla Ice with Ice Ice Baby! Last thing you watched on TV? Orphan Black on Netflix Funniest thing that happened to you recently? I was walking out of work at lunch time last week laden with computer, handbag with open zip and other miscellaneous things hanging off me. The ramp that I was walking down leads to a large court yard where there must have been 150 university students having lunch. My heel got caught in the deck and I lost my balance. My unzipped hand bag did three circles around my neck emptying its entire contents in a perfect circle for 20 meters around me, my computer bag and other miscellaneous objects ended up strewn in various locations and I landed awkwardly and in a……..well…..compromised position on the deck, but had absolutely everybody’s FULL attention!! It made me giggle……but it seems it was a bit awkward for the 150 students!! (PS - two students helped me to gather my belongings!)

I must confess I get hair jealousy so in the absence of Nadine, it would have to be Nass’ hair, anybody else’s toned abs and indeed anybody else’s smaller butt - at least then I might stand a chance of getting my toes to a bar!!
