Congrats to our member of the Month - Anthony!! When, how and why did you get started with us?
I started at CrossFit Claremont as soon as I arrived in Perth at the back of 2023. I’ve been doing CrossFit for a number of years (though my lack of gymnastics skills might suggest otherwise) and I was keen to find a new box to join. Claremont ticked all the boxes for me. What would be your dream workout?
A 30-minute partner “you-go, I-go” session. Relatively heavy barbell complex, something like DT, with short bursts of cardio, like rowing or a quick run, between the complex. What workout would you want to avoid? Anything with burpees and doubleunders :) Favourite Crossfit Athlete?
Annie Thorisdottir popped into my head first, so let’s go with that. Longevity in the sport and super strong. What's the best thing you own that costs under $100?
Got to be a mosquito zapper racket. Biggest fashion mistake you’ve ever made?
Definitely my far-too-large collection of CrossFit socks. I’m in denial about it and I’ll just keep wearing them anyway :) Favourite quote?
I’m not usually a big quote person, but one that’s stuck with me from a work situation many moons ago is: it’s only a mistake if you do it twice What's your fav 90s jam?
So many good ones - lets go with Oasis’ Wonderwall. What was the last thing you watched on TV?
Drive to Survive The funniest thing that happened to you recently?
I used a South African phrase, “missioning,” which just means being busy. My audience, however, thought I was running some mysterious cult and actively recruiting them. Took a while, but we eventually realised we’d been on completely different wavelengths and that I wasn’t recruiting anyone after all. Priceless! Most used emoji?
Mindblown giraffe. If you could have another CrossFit Claremont member's attribute, what would it be?
Be as fearless as Em with a barbell overhead. That kind of skill is seriously inspiring.
