The Open Close, one from the closed close!

Whooooo can you feel the tension? I can!

There's tension everywhere! Tension in your Jimmy Jack (back), tension in your calves, tension between chalked and non chalked pull-up bar users and tension between teams with households being torn apart by the rollicking physical and emotional journey we go on over these 3 weeks.

After the first workout had lots of jumping and hinging, and everyone was excited for a change. CrossFit HQ on full-time troll mode said "Haha gotchya", we're doing jumping and hinging again! This week's workout was:

20 min AMRAP

300m Row

10 Deadlifts

50 Double Unders

Nate took a few days off this week for a bit of sun, after Friday night on top of their week 1 win was all he needed to see - confident that the Red Rockets would almost have this competition on lock after the first 2 weeks. After a week 1 domination, would anyone be able to stop them?

Things Gary heard:

_ "Did anyone see that Grace got the best score in the country?!?" - Shauny B unfortunately getting our Grace confused with another Perth Crossfiter - Grace Walton (who is currently #1 in the world - amazing!)

_ A conversation between Ben L and Nikki:

N: "Hey, welcome to team purple"

B: "I'm not on your team"

"You're not? Whose team are you on then?"

"I'm not sure"... Turns out Nikki had the wrong number and it wasn't Ben at all...

_ "Hi Jase, yeah I can't make any classes today but there's no storage left on my phone for a video submission. What do I do?" - Someone from Gold Standard needs to teach Jess how to delete videos from her phone.

_ The Sky Bison's WhatApp had some unfortunate reports coming in. They speak for themself..

_ Welcome to the new team members this week: Alex to Red, Kayla to Gold, Ed to Green, Angus to Blue and Ben to purple.

_ Cooper unfortunately had to deal with having an ankle cuff on tracking his movements after his podcast comments became public. It seems the public isn't ready for the truth.

Notable performances:

_ Welcome to Sarah's brother who was visiting and jumped in on Friday night.

_ If you know Fergus you know he does anything with full gusto. His double under counting is no exception.

_ Christian, unfortunately, contracted a case of liquid stool. He strapped on an adult diaper and on Tuesday morning he almost managed 8 rounds.

_ Well done to Jordie who hadn't done double unders before this workout. He finished with nearly 4 rounds!

_ Unfortunately a sniper from across the military base targeted Benny and he was shot in the calf with 10 seconds left. A calf injury is a sign of elite athletic ability, good luck with the recovery in Bali all week Ben.

Week 2 results:

This week being scored with a high rep workout, the operators on the top end were able to crank out some big numbers and make an impact for their team.

5th: Red Raiders - 6290 reps

4th: Blue Sky Bisons - 6317 reps

3rd: Purple Prodigy - 6437 reps

2nd: Gold Standard - 6519 reps

1st: Green Cowboys - 6568 reps

After struggling in week 1, the Cowboys will be sleeping soundly in the swag tonight.

Overall Standings:

5th: Blue Sky Bisons - 9 points

=3rd: Purple Prodigy/Red Raiders - 6 points

2nd: Green Cowboys - 5 points

1st: Gold Standard - 4 points

Well, what a story this would be. After years of battering under Kat, Gold gets revived by a rookie captain to be leading with one week left. This is the kind of stuff that's too unbelievable for fiction - the kind of drama that only sport can provide.

Don't count your chickens just yet though folks, with it likely there are still 2 workouts to come - all results are still possible.

See you Friday for what could be the last open ever!
